Why hire a Music Producer?
As a music producer, I want to be the difference between a nice idea and a finished record that is loud, proud and so catchy that you can’t wait to release it. Music production services in Los Angeles are not hard to find, granted, but at That Little Studio we aim to provide things that others don’t. Firstly, I’m a songwriter myself, so I know how hard it can be to get the second verse lyrics right, or find the right mood for the bridge, or resolution verse. Also, I’ve spent a lot of time in and around Music Production as a producer (obviously!) but also as an artist. I’ve borne witness to many different workflows and practices – some tried, tested and non-negotiable, and others literally devised on the fly to suit a genre, feeling, timetable (or budget). So, If you’re thinking – “I want to produce my song in Los Angeles” – then this could well be the place that turns your voice note into floor filler.
Making a Record
AThrow a popsicle and you’re likely to hit a record producer in Los Angeles, so why choose That Little Studio? Mainly it’s on your terms, any size fits you… I can sit back and press record while you sing, play (and dance?) your little heart out – before making everything fabulous and shiny after you leave. Or I can be a full part of the process – help with song structure, sectional variation and building layers to a climax, I can program drums that sound live and human, I’ll even play the piano, bass, or Fender Rhodes for you – or the clarinet, but you’ll need to ask reaaallly nicely…

End to End Record Production
At That little Studio, we will happily do it all - help with song construction, find the right groove, tempo and vibe, and then create all the instrumental parts that are missing from the version playing in your head - if that's a couple of guitars and a tambourine, great, if it's a gospel choir and 8o piece orchestra? Still great, but that takes longer... If you need guidance for backing vocals, harmonies etc we're here for that, or if you're one of those singers who can just hear them without prompting then I'll just sit back and press record! Finally, I'll mix it and get you a version ready for release - you can read more about that on our mixing page...
